Three Minute Masterpiece Contest

We recently shot a new short as an entry for the 3-Minute Masterpiece film contest which is put on by both the Seattle Times and the Seattle International Film Festival.

We had to cram in the whole production into a short period of time but I think that we ended up with a nice little short. The deadline was last night and we only began work on this specific short a week earlier. We had prepped a different short for this competition but when it became obvious that the weather was not going to allow us to go forward as planned we had to come up with a whole new story the night before the first day of photography. Everyone really worked well under such tough conditions and brought their own ideas to the fold.

And there will be a director's cut of this coming out at some point in the future so that we can take advantage of and share more of the two hours worth of footage that we shot for this three minute movie. There were a lot of gags that did not make it into the competition cut of the movie that we think people are really gonna like, such as a very romantic bout of "Gay Chicken".

The new director of photography and editor we worked with on this is Caleb. He is already a great filmmaker in his own right and he really brought a new element to the already established group. If you'd like to check out some of his professional work you can do so at his YouTube page;

This should be a sign of things to come as we've put together a nice group of filmmakers with whom we look to be making more movies in the future. Keep an eye out and we will keep you updated.

But here is the short film we made; "The Last Slice". Enjoy.
